Long term investment under this topic is cultivating a land, this requires a big land for the purpose of agricultural investment. This type of investment takes 4-5 years before getting your returns from your investment.

With my experience with proper care, most cocoa trees yield pods by the fourth or fifth year and can continue for another 30 years.

How It Is Planted

A typical pod contains 30 to 40 beans and there are about 30 pods or even more per tree; approximately 400 dried beans are required to make one pound of cocoa.

When you plant cocoa, you will also plant plantain to protect the cocoa because this enhance the cocoa survivor. Cocoa trees aren’t that easy to plant, people without proper knowledge or training can’t plant cocoa.

Normally Long-term investment takes time before you will start to get income from the investments but I will reveal more secret to you. Normally, cocoa take 4-5 years before it harvest but there’s another specie of cocoa that takes up to 2 years.

The secret is that plantain doesn’t take much time like cocoa before harvest. Plantain also brings money and the sweet thing about this is that you buy plantain sucker for planting but after few months, they grow offspring as sucker.

One might have up to three suckers and all you have to do is take them off and replant them elsewhere. This saves you a lot of money. If you have to buy more suckers, it’ll literally be much.
